Limit from sugary food

Apart from brushing and flossing, the act of protecting your teeth should also involve self-discipline when it comes to your diet. Sugars can turn into acids, which can attack the tooth’s enamel, causing teeth to weaken, and this may lead to tooth decay and other oral diseases.

Wear protective dental guards when needed

There’s a reason why mouth guards and dental night guards exist. Mouth guards protect your teeth when playing contact sports, and night guards hinder the negative effects of teeth grinding in your sleep. Both of these situations can lead to dental emergencies, so be sure to wear the proper protection.

Skip the smoke

Tobacco is notorious for staining teeth, and puts you at a higher risk for gum disease and oral cancer. If you smoke, consider quitting.
